A preview of the exhibit about the Mexican Day of the Dead took place at the House of St Cyr on June 6 in the evening and, to my great disappointment, the director judged my paintings ‘too shocking’ for the residents.
I was forced to take off my paintings. For the first time I was facing censorship.
And I hope it was the last time.
Death is definitely a taboo…
Here is an article written before the censorship of my exhibit in which I explain that death is not a taboo in Mexico and that there is nothing creepy about my work.
